Our Mission
Charlie's Choice is dedicated to serving humanity's most basic needs by providing funding to credible non-profit organizations working to alleviate global hunger, build safe shelters, and end the clean water crisis. Our mission is driven by the core belief that every person deserves to have food in their belly, a roof over their head, and clean water in their cup.

Every dollar you give to Charlie's Choice has real impact on the lives of those most in need. In partnership with Charity: water, your collective donations sponsored a new water point for an entire community in Nepal. Read on to learn more.
Our Community
Charlie's Choice was able to grant enough funding to Charity: water to bring a new clean water access point to an entire community in Nepal.
Why Nepal? Did you know that eight of the world’s ten tallest mountains are found in Nepal (including Mt. Everest)? Nepal's mountainous terrain means water sources are often far away and potentially dangerous to reach. Landslides during the annual monsoon season and earthquakes (Nepal’s is located along a massive fault line) make clean water access even more challenging. (photo credit; Charity: water)
Partner Implementation
Charity: water is an incredible non-profit that partners with local organizations in the communities they serve to ensure every new water point considers the unique requirements and needs of the region. As part of our "water project," Charity: water worked with HELVETAS Nepal to map out and manage the new water source. HELVETAS Nepal is a pioneer for Water Use Master Planning (WUMPs). This approach focuses on long-term management and sustainability of natural water sources. (photo credit; Charity: water)
The Water System
Our sponsored water point supporting Nepal is a "piped system with tap stand." Piped systems are implemented if a water source has a high yield - enough to sustain multiple water distribution points, or is too far away to access. These interconnected pipelines use gravity, electricity, solar power, or a combination of methods to bring water directly to the distribution point. The size and structure of the system is tailored to the geography, amount of water available, and financial and technical resources. In some cases, existing infrastructure can be used and/or extensions are added to other existing systems to bring water to more people. (Charity: water, Dec. 2021).
Financial Update
As part of our donor promise, we will always offer full transparency of our financial giving and investment. We're thrilled to share that Charlie's Choice has raised ~$54k to-date and contributed to excellent non-profit organizations that support our areas of focus. We have also held a portion of funds aside as principal, earning interest over time and enabling Charlie's Choice to make an impact ongoing.
